Lord on October 29th and her funeral service was held at FBC Macedon on
November 2nd. Concerns: Kathy, Pastor Carol's sister-in-law was diagnosed

tumors.
You may have heard of a group meeting every other Thursday night,
first called "God's Politics" after a book by Jim Wallis (a very good
read!) and later named C.A.P.E. for "Caring About People
Everywhere". This taskforce was formed
by several people who wanted to make a change in the state of hunger and
homelessness in this world, but didn't know how. Everyone is welcome to join for one or more meetings or tasks,
watch the bulletin for meetings to be announced. The current attendees have decided to wait until after Christmas
to make plans, but in the mean time have decided to work on a few small
projects in conjunction with others: 1) We are collecting the aluminum pull
tabs from soda cans - these will go to Sheltered Reality. This group played at our Summer Picnic
worship service and work towards ending homelessness.2) We are collecting
Campbell's soup Labels for Education.
These will go to Cameron Community Ministries. In order to see which labels to save, you can check out the
bulletin board in the fellowship hall or go to http://www.labelsforeducation.com/eligibleproductsEN.aspx
to print your own list. Both of these items are being collected at or near the
bulletin boards in the fellowship hall.3) We are collecting small new or like
new toys and clothes for children (ages 0-12) that have fled to the Wayne
County Women's Shelter. These families
often leave their home in the middle of the night and take nothing with
them. Suggestions include small stuffed
animals and small toys (age appropriate), blankies, mittens, hats, and seasonal
clothes. There will be cardboard boxes decorated with the CAPE label in the
front church hallway. Please join the taskforce and find out how you can make a
difference!
Fairport Baptist Homes
Women's Service Board:
The Board is always busy, so to let you know what is going on. There
will be a New Year's Eve Party for the residents. Our Women's Service Board chorus will be singing. The Plain 'N Fancy Sale made $8050.20. The Corporation dinner was attended by the
Bartels, Van Houtes and Pastor Carol to represent our church. It was well attended and the dinner
delicious. And as always, Rosalie and I
are looking for new Women's Service Board members to represent our church. The Centenarian Tea was held for Alice
Hebner, 102 and Herb Hanson, 104. Our
own Rosalie Gabbert was part of the entertaining with "Betty Blue and
Peter Pocket." Once again there
will be a box for "Stocking Stuffers" for the residents at the Homes
downstairs in the fellowship hall. A
list was in the bulletin and is on the box.
They thank you for your help. If
there are any youth groups at our church that would like to help with wrapping,
at the Home, as a project, please call 1-585-477-0350 and ask for Hilda. She will be most thankful for your
help. Marion, Key Woman
Women's Philathea News: I want to thank Retta for hosting our
meeting. As always the desserts, were
yum, yum. We sang happy birthday to Marilyn. Bunny did the program on being still, being
quiet, because our lives seem to be very busy and we need to take some time out
of the day to spend with God. Our next
(Christmas) meeting is December 14 at 6 p.m. at Pat's home. Bring a dish to pass for the buffet and a
homemade ornament to exchange. Jane
will be doing the program. All women
are welcome. Bunny and I want to thank
everybody who was involved in putting the bazaar together and also thanks to
everybody who worked so hard to make things to donate, and also baked
goods. If it wasn't for the donations
there would not be a bazaar. It takes a
team to pull it together. And Pat Bauer
in the kitchen and her team in making the lunches was a success. We have a total for the bazaar of
$1,553.78. Wonderful! We have bears left and they are going to be
given some new homes. The small ones
are going to be given as gifts to the Fairport Baptist Home and rest are going
to be given to the Battered Women's Shelter and also to foster children of
Wayne County. Also our Philathea will
be doing gift bags for the Bickford House.
We do this every year and the men look forward to it. There are 24 and out of the 24, there are 5
that are diabetic. We give them fruit,
some candy, cookies and treats. For the
diabetic ones, they eat fruit, sugar free candy, sugar free treats, and sugar
free cookies. If you would like to make
something special for the men please feel free. This will take place on December 18 after the first service. We will be assembling the goodies in the lounge
or upstairs classroom. You can bring
them and put them in the lounge. Any
questions see Betty. Oh, what a wonder
God we have. How great are his riches
and wisdom and knowledge. How
impossible his decisions and his methods.
For who can know that the Lord is thinking? Who knows enough to be his counselor? And who could ever give him so much that he would have to pay it
back? For everything comes fro him; everything exists by his power and is
intended for his glory. To him be glory
evermore. Romans 11:33-36

Dear
Friends, On October 8th surrounded by over 500 family members and friends, we
at the Upstate Home for Children and Adults, unveiled our new name: Springbrook - Making the Difference for
People with Disabilities... For a Lifetime.
Springbrook was chosen because spring reflects the hope and renewal of
our mission and water is an essential element of life. At Springbrook, our goal is to build
independence and offer choices so that everyone can reach their potential. We are proud of our 80 year tradition of
caring and support of those children and adults most in need. Our name has changed but our mission has not. At
Springbrook, we have a heartfelt commitment to serve people with special needs. We take pride in our Christian heritage, our
family centered programs and our ability to meet the very changing needs of
those we serve. Thank you for your
years of support and caring. We invite
you to visit our wed site at www.springbrook.org Join us in our celebration of our name and future. May God bless you, Patricia Kennedy,
Executive Director
Dear
Church Family, I apologize for how long
it took to get this letter sent out.
During the last week of September, my wife was rushed to E.R. with an
urgent need to have her gall bladder out.
Please pray for her recovery.
Everything went fairly well, but it takes time to get back to full
strength after any surgery. Please pray
about the bills we'll be receiving soon.
She had insurance, but it doesn't cover a lot of what had to be done. Nevertheless, I find comfort in Philippians
4:19, "But my God shall supply all
your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." The most noteworthy praise regarding the
surgery: My wife and I got to talk to a
student nurse about the Lord, and I had the privilege of leading that young
lady to Christ! God continues to bless
our church, particularly with three young girls getting saved right after
Children's Church recently. We're
running about 20-25 on Sunday mornings.
One lady even started coming because of an article printed about our
church in the newspaper. We also have a
new van in Swink. Praise the Lord! Thank you for your prayers. God bless, Kevin & Donna Dense,
Missionary Interns to the Choctaws
