Women's Ministries News:  We will be having our next meeting at church on April 20th.  Hostess will be Barb.  Meeting time will be 7 p.m.  Retta will be introducing the program (Basic Self Defense).  Wear casual clothes.  Anybody who might be interested is welcome to come.  The program should start at 7:30 p.m.  It will be down stairs off the kitchen.  Thank you Barb P. for hosting and changing with Barb F.  Sue B. did the March program on 7 Things That Steal Your Joy by Joyce Meyer.  Good job Sue.  Self control is not a widespread virtue today, Lord many pervert the concept, turning it into “It's my body, and I can do what I want”, when its true meaning is more of the Holy Spirit who lives in me and guides me.  Why would I ever want to defile this temple for some fleeting pleasure?  Of course I am tempted I am fully human, but this body was made by you to glorify you, not myself be with me when I am tempted Lord.  Show me the true joys of self-control, I pray.  1 Corinthians 6:19 Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own.  Betty S.

Opportunity to Serve Christ:  At the 30-Hour Famine, our youth and I explored Matthews 25's powerful message about serving Jesus by helping one another.  What a privilege!  You and I may be able to help our brother-in-church Dan D. with rides HOME from his work place downtown in Rochester, leaving there anytime after 3:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  This would help Angela and Ryan also - very cool!    Or, if you are downtown, call Dan at work.  Blessings will chase you - Pastor Carol

Joys & Concerns:  Joys!  Jen, a co-worker of Sam's was told she would never have children and recently gave birth to a baby girl.  Thanks be to God!  Congratulations to Brian and his wife on the birth of Simon Peter!  Brian used to worship here with us and has since moved south.  Eamon Riley was born two months early to Tim & Stacey.  Christian Sympathy is Extended to:  June on the loss of her sister, Pearl.  We extend our sympathy to the families and friends on the loss of Virginia.  Virginia went home to the Lord on March 1st and her memorial service was held here on March 19th.  We lift up the family and friends on the loss of Betty.  She went home to the Lord on March 12th and her memorial service was held here on March 17th.  The Reverend Karen Gonzales went home to the Lord on February 26th.  Prayer Concerns: Dena, Hal's daughter is in the final stages on breast cancer.  Roy, Carol's father was hospitalized and had surgery for congestive heart failure.  Frank, Vera's father, suffered a serious stroke and is currently at home receiving therapy.  He thanks the congregation for their prayers and cards.  Vera thanks all of you also for your loving support.  Milly was hospitalized at Strong for a brief period with chest pains and is currently doing fine.  Joan, Ruth's and Jane's neighbor is suffering from lung cancer.  Phyllis, Jane's mother, was hospitalized in Massachusetts.  Maria, co-worker of Angela, is currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer.  Reverend David Hermann, Pastor of First United Methodist Church in Palmyra underwent a procedure on his heart.  He is currently doing fine.  Jessica, our former youth director, is having serious back problems and welcomes our prayers.  Dan suffered a seizure, his first in years.  Kevin has walking problems.  Gary, Alice's son-in-law is critically ill.  Corky was hospitalized at Strong.  She is currently at home and on oxygen.  Linda, Sally's daughter, has been diagnosed with leukemia.  Kay, Alec's mother has leukemia.  Mike and Amy on the return of Amy's cancer.  Jim, son of a co-worker of Sam's has been deployed to Iraq for a year.  Luiza underwent surgery on her back.  She is at home recovering and doing well.  She thanks the congregation for our prayers and cards.  Leila, a friend of Reverend Ehrlich and used to worship here at FBC Macedon, has liver cancer.  Brian, a classmate of Patrick's, broke his right arm and his left wrist playing indoor soccer.

A note from MARG K. regarding BILL, OUR FIELD MINISTER FOR WAYNE ASSOCATION:  Today (Saturday) the oncologist met with our daughter Julie, Bill and myself.  Bill does have acute leukemia and the doctor days there is a possibility he could go into remission after a very strenuous chemotherapy program.  Bill's physical condition is very much in his favor but his age, diabetes and atrial fibrillation are not!  I'm not sure the doctor is aware of the power of prayer and he certainly doesn't know how many are praying - neither do we but we hear of more every day.  Prayer is definitely in his favor!  Many have asked how we are coping.  Well... Bill Kerr is still Bill Kerr!  The oncologist is bald and said Bill would probably look like him.  We said that our granddaughter had already offered to paint a smiley face on Grandpa's head and decorate it for each season.  I asked my daughter to send some family pictures for a bulletin board and Bill told her to be sure and bring the darts!  "Little things" get to me.  When I arrived home, I went to the local service station and realized that I had always had Bill to put gas in my car.  So I stood and cried and, in tears, went in and asked a young man if he could help me.  Then I put the card in upside down so he fixed that, got the gas going and hugged me!  That was pretty well the end of my tears today.  I couldn't begin to tell you how much laughing we did!  Three pastors were in so there was prayer throughout the day.  We still say "God is good and God is faithful".  Julie just phoned and said the red blood cell count was where they want it to be - the prayer request is that it stays there!  Thanks for listening.  I'll say "Goodnight and God bless you"!   Marg K, Saturday evening, March 19th

We would like to thank Pastor Carol and our church family for all the prayers, cards, food and hugs in the loss of our Mom and Grandmother, Betty. We also extend a big thank you to everyone that coordinated, donated and volunteered for the luncheon after Mom's service. Doug, Sue, Brett & Todd, Tom, Kay, Leigh & Scott, Ralph & Lynn

Dear Pastor Carol & Church Family, I want to thank you all so very much for the flowers you sent me.  They are so beautiful and I think of you all often.  Thought I wasn't having surgery, I think God knew I needed the encouragement during this time.  Thank you again for your love and support.  Sincerely, Jessica

Church Family, Thank you for the wonderful Valentine's Day package!  It's always nice to get mail from home.  My second semester is going well, a lot more work than the first, but I'm managing.  It's a lot of science and math.  I'm taking Engineering (Mass & Energy Balances), Intro to Computer Science, Advanced General Physics, Sociology (World Populations), and finally a small course, Issues in Landscape Studies.  It is definitely tough, but (most of) it is interesting.  On top of work, I also do dishes in our kitchen, and kept stats for girl's basketball team's home games.  Its pretty amazing I can get all my work done!  After settling in the first semester, I've joined our schools Intervarsity Christian Fellowship that meets for an hour and a half Thursday nights.  The girls are all so wonderful.  It's a pretty relaxing time.  Well, I should see you all not until May or June.  I might be working reunion/graduation weeks here.  Thank you for the package and for the prayers.  With love, Lindsey

Dear Board of Christian Ed and First Baptist Congregation, Thank you so much for the Valentine's day care package.  My housemates and I greatly appreciated the much needed sugar rush during late night trips to the library.  There aren't many college students who can say that their church family is there for them, even when they are miles away.  It is an incredible feeling to know that even when I am away from home, I will always have the First Baptist Church!  Thank you so much again!  God Bless, Kim

Dear Church Family, I wanted to thank you so much for the goodie bag of delicious treats.  This is my last semester at Fredonia and it has proved to be the toughest, so the extra chocolate was just what my friends and I needed!  It is a great feeling knowing that my church family is thinking about me!  Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and generosity.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.  God Bless, Nicole

Dear faithful brothers and sisters in Christ:  This letter is to inform the Wayne Association churches of the American Baptist Church of NYS that First Baptist Church of Wolcott is officially calling an Ordination Council regarding our recently installed pastor, Michael M.  Preliminary paperwork has been completed and filed with the Chair of the Committee on Ministry, Rev. Dottie T, and an Ordination Council is the next step in the organization process.  Therefore, we invite all Wayne Association Church to attend an Ordination Council at: First Baptist Church of Williamson, Sunday, April 10th at 3 p.m.  In order for this to be an official ordination council, church should send the pastor and one delegate (or two delegates if your pastor cannot attend).  At least one third of the member church must be present.  Thank you for your involvement and support.  Please, do not hesitate to call 594-9371 for any needed clarifications.  Sincerely, Judi B, Chair of the Board of Deacons, First Baptist Church of Wolcott

Operation Christmas Child Mission 2005:  Dear Friends, 2004 was the first year First Baptist Church of Macedon participated in Operation Christmas Child, the Samaritan’s Purse global evangelism project that demonstrates God’s love to needy children through gift-filled shoeboxes. Boxes were delivered to many boys and girls who have never received any Christmas presents.  It was a way to introduce Jesus Christ to them and their families and many of these lives will be changed forever. Our first attempt produced over 40 of these missionary tools.  Just a reminder, it’s not too early to start saving shoeboxes or purchasing plastic shoeboxes for our 2005 campaign, along with purchasing things to fill these boxes with.  You can fill the boxes with the following items:

¨        School supplies: pens, pencils & sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, coloring books, chalk, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, etc.

¨        Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, small Etch A Sketch*, toys that light up or make noise (supply extra batteries please), Slinky*, etc.

¨        Hygiene items: toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap in a plastic bag, combs, washcloths, etc.

¨        Candy: hard candy in a plastic bag, lollipops, mints and gum are all acceptable.

¨        Other suggestions: sunglasses, flashlights with extra batteries, ball caps, socks, T-shirts, toy jewelry, hair clips, watches, small picture books, etc.

DO NOT INCLUDE: Used items, toy guns, knives, or other war-related items, chocolate or perishable food items (no Tootsie Rolls, cookies, crackers, M&M’s*, etc.), Liquids of any kind (no shampoo, lotion, bubbles, liquid soap), breakable items (no china dolls, snow globes).

Help us bring the Good News of Jesus Christ again to those in need and help to brighten your Christmas by brining joy to another.  God Bless you for your support and prayers for this mission.  Cheryl
